United Pools and COVID-19

United Pools and COVID-19

We have entered into a period where a worldwide issue is impacting our day-to-day lives on an unprecedented scale. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of those who have been affected by COVID-19, both directly and indirectly.

At United Pools, our customers, communities, and employees' health and safety is our primary concern. We will remain open to doing our part in protecting public health by providing an essential service to our customers - maintaining clean and sanitary pool water. Proper pool maintenance is essential to ensure pool water does not become a breeding ground and succumb to algae and bacteria growth. These can pose additional health challenges during this already difficult time.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) continues to report that there is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans using pools and hot tubs. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g., with chlorine and bromine) of pools and hot tubs should eliminate the virus that causes COVID-19.

The CDC has released guidance on COVID-19 and water transmission, including recreational water bodies like pools or spas. We encourage you to read this information and share it with others who may have questions about Coronavirus's spread through the water.

United Pools is committed to supporting state and local mandates to prevent the spread of COVID-19 while ensuring that you have a properly maintained pool. We are taking several measures to ensure we manage to safely get through this fluid situation while continuing to serve our customers effectively. Please understand our technicians are practicing safe social distancing of 6 feet, as recommended by CDC, during interactions with customers. Also, the interior of our service vehicle is sanitized daily.
